Biloxi Lighthouse

The Biloxi Lighthouse, built in 1848, survived the destructive fury of hurricane Katrina of August 29, 2005.

Historians believe the Biloxi Lighthouse was the first cast metal lighthouse in the South. The tower stands 61 feet on a brick foundation, constructed of brick encased by cast iron.

Today the Biloxi Lighthouse is operated by the City of Biloxi as a private aid to navigation and as a historic icon of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Penny has sculpted a brooch and ornament depicting the reisilient Biloxi Lighthouse and we offer hand-made photo notecards featuring the photography of her husband, Gordon Fikes.
